Even if you’re not a fan of the 10-step Korean product routine, you probably cleanse and moisturise every day and add serums, SPFs and perhaps a bit of night time retinol. You probably moisturise your body after a shower and fight dry, winter skin with scrubs or long soaks in the bath (probably interrupted multiple times by children/ cats / phone calls but hey, we can try).
But there’s one skincare step that most of us don’t even think about. No, it’s not another overpriced toning cream - it’s your laundry routine. Think about the fabrics that are touching your skin throughout the day: the towels you dry your body and face with, the sheets and pillowcases you sleep on, the clothes you wear… yet so many of us use the same laundry products we’ve used for years.
Well, It’s time for an upgrade.
The thing with so many standard detergents and fabric softeners is that they rely heavily on chemicals, optical brighteners and synthetic fragrances. All of these ingredients can leave chemical residue on fabrics, triggering allergies and irritating skin and airways.
At nimble cares, we know that talking about laundry isn’t as glamorous as a shiny new face cream or body oil. But we also believe that it’s time to think of laundry products as an extension of our skincare regime. Let’s start reading the label, asking why certain harmful ingredients are so commonly used - and then choosing better. Hormone disruptors? Toxins? Itchy residue? No thanks.

You’ll even see some crossover between common skincare ingredients and those in our laundry range. Take the humble coconut - commonly used in face and body skincare for its gentle cleansing and moisturising properties, it’s also a key ingredient in our plant-based laundry detergent. Or rapeseed (one of the main ingredients in our fabric softener), known for its moisturising, anti-inflammatory qualities.
