Perfect for the holidays!!
This month we’ve teamed up with our friends at Piccolo to share some weaning recipes so that even little ones can get fancy and festive.
Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without mince pies. Treat your family by making our moreish Mince Pies at home, heaped with tangy citrus flavours.
Preparation: 20 minutes | Cooking: 35 minutes | Suitable from 12 months
Ingredients you'll need

2 eating apples, peeled and chopped into small cubes

1 orange, peeled and chopped into small cubes

1 medium carrot, peeled grated

Zest & juice of 1 orange

7 tablespoons raisins

1-2 tablespoons runny honey or maple syrup

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
-
½ teaspoon ground ginger
-
Pinch of ground nutmeg

1 package shortcrust pastry
Method

Prepare the apples, orange and carrot and put them into a saucepan with the orange juice, zest, raisins, honey and cinnamon.

Heat the pan gently for 25 minutes until the fruit and vegetables are soft.

Preheat oven to 200C/180fan/400F

Lightly grease the tart or muffin tray cups.

Roll out the pastry and cut 12 rounds slightly larger than the holes in the muffin tray. Cut the remaining pastry with a star cookie cutter. Re-roll the pastry if necessary

Place the circles into the tart/muffin tray, add a heaped teaspoon of the filling and top with a pastry star.

Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden and allow to cool before serving.

To serve, dust the tarts with icing sugar.
